Oh my, oh my. This year is gonna be the movie-year for me. I've already watched about 10 movies this year, and I'm gonna catch Ninja Assasin and Avatar soon. But it's fun and exciting though, catching some new stuff on big screens. Learning new animation, how they do it, it's a great learning experience, unlike..

pirated copies.
* cough*
Oh so today, we went for movie screening of AstroBoy in Iluma cinema at 9am. Holy shit, 9am? But I managed to get there in time with the others. Phew. We got seated after collecting the poster and attendance taking.
So first, there was a talk by the HK producer of the Astro Boy movie. How privileged! I kind of forget his name, but he's a funny guy. The talk was about the making-of processes, the rigs and effects and last about 40 minutes. Then they screened the movie.
So here's my little take on the movie:

Storyline: 8/10
Visual Efx: 7.4/10
Sound Efx: 6.5/10
Animation: 7.5/10
Overall: 7.3/10
Although I'm not an AstroBoy fan, I enjoyed this movie. I don't know if they changed the plot or anything. But making a 3D film out of 2D is really an amazing feat. Everything in the movie really flows well together, and the timing of the film is just right. Bravo.
After the movie, we went back to school after accompanying Jian Xiang to Kino where he bought a "not-suitable-for-kids" book. We had Pizza Hut at school. Really a big thank you to JX and Lin Jing for treating us, the whole class, to lunch.
We had class after, and everyone was sleepy. heh. But we managed to last until the end. It isn't really boring either, we textured a vehicle wheel.
Today was a fun day, it would be great if we could hang out again in the near future, as a class. Oh yeah, Ninja Assasin next week! Hope I'm not broke, I'm saving up for my SNSD stuff. haha. ^__^
