Thursday - Badminton w/ friends, possible Clash of the Titans.

Friday - Good Friday, going for church at night.

Saturday - Party at Pastor's house.

Sunday - Easter Sunday, visiting my Grandfather('s ashes).

Other plans:

The equation all adds up to being busy. No time? Or it is that I don't know how to manage my time well.

The first word when you thought of Jack's Place is "steak". No doubt, and it's for the same for me, I've almost tried every single of their steaks there, and indeed, it's really sastifying. Why not try something different, I thought. That's why this time, I ordered the baked cod in sauce.

The meat is so tender that it literally melts in your mouth, and the skin has a great twist to it. The sauce was just right, it doesn't spoil the original taste of the meat, but it enhances it's flavour. Surprisingly, it tastes more like a chinese dish.

Service-wise, this outlet is the best among the rest. They have waiter(ess)/s ready to serve you, they re-fill your cups quickly, and without you asking them to. The manager even came out to ask the customers how's their food.

Must try: Sirloin Steak. ^^

It's an experience trying out their different outlets, but still, if I have a choice, I would choose the one which is a 5-minutes walk from home.

++ Training Your Dragon, Easy as ABC ++
Alright, so it's the 27th of March yesterday = Happy Birthday Father.

Maybe I should talk about the movie first. So yeah, it's so long since I watched a 3D film in theatres, the last one was "UP" if I could remember it correctly. So well, might be useful in my future career, watched it with 9 other friends. Woah. Here it is! How to Train Your Dragon.

Storyline: 8/10

Animation: 8.5/10

Visual Efx: 6/10

Sound Efx: 7/10

Firstly, I didn't read the book, so I don't know the story, which might have spoiled it. So at first impression, the storyline was predictable, but I'm glad that, that isn't the case. The story was enjoyable from beginning to end, and the length of the film is just right. 98 minutes, unlike those 2.5-hours movie. God.

The animation is really smooth and the modelling of the characters are of great quality. I wonder when would I reach that standard. But I'm sure I will, someday. The effects are really sweet too, fire, water, clouds. Brilliant. The textures are so beautiful, especially extreme close-ups, for example the eyes and the scales of the dragons. And I find the beards of the Vikings really interesting, I'm still wondering how they do it.

This film is fun to watch, definitely a family-movie. Young and old, I'm sure everyone would enjoy as much as I do.

--------------------------------------------

So I actually went early to Vivocity with Benny, Wang Ting, Daryl and Zhen Li to collect the album. Run Devil Run. Yes, it is here! We search the whole mall for the seller. I can't believe we actually missed it. There is a mass fan-gathering. OMG. So we paid and got our stuff. There's 2 poster in it. One random folded + one group, which is same for everyone. Hoping for Sunny, I opened mine. Oh, I think I got to say that before we actually open the album, a group was standing behind us to see what we've got (to trade).

I opened mine. Slowly. Sunny? No, it's Yuri. Woah! How lucky. Yes, she's sexy, and that's the reason of her high-demand. But still Sunny comes first. Within 10 seconds, seriously. I'm swarmed. I get what I wanted eventually. Phew. It's actually my first time going for this kind of gathering and I'm surprised. There are so many kinds of people, I even see somebody I knew, some group wearing the same shirt and one huge guy wearing "Nothing without 9" shirt. God.

We then met the others and watched the movie. I left after hanging with them a while, cos' I'm supposed to be with my father for his birthday-dinner, so called. They took a cab there to the Singapore Flyer, where we were supposed to have a seafood feast, while I took the train to City-Hall. And damn myself for walking the super long and wrong way to the flyer. And at the end we couldn't get a (Sorry, I'm trying not to use any vulgarities here, aye.) table, cos' it's full-house and we got to wait. Buck. And the only thing I went to the Singapore Flyer, is to use the flucking toilet for once. Ruck! Luck! And we have to walking a sucking long road, I'm yucking dying, and my wucking legs are literally crumbling.

We had dinner at Jack's Place in the end (maybe I should do a review again or something tomorrow), then took a cab home. Tired, so longing for my bed.

(I actually dreamt of Sunny, for the countless time).

God. Help. Me.

Plans for today:

- Catch "How to Train Your Dragon" with friends.
- Possibly get a present for father.
- Have a birthday-dinner with family.

Man, so many things to do, so little time.

ITP is coming in 3 weeks time, and I didn't even get any news. I just know that I'll be working somewhere, far-far away. Ang Mo Kio. damned.

++ Asian Drama Recommendations ++
Feeling bored during the holidays? Finding things to occupy your time? Well, I guess watching dramas is the best option (for me). Right. I've been scouting for a lot of asian dramas lately, and I just finished 2 of them.

So here are two of my favourites.

J-Drama: LIAR GAME 2

I would recommend watching the first season before this, if you haven't. Starring Erika Toda again, God. Of course I got to watch it. Lying is the way to win in this game, but Nao Kanzaki(acted by Toda) insisted on using trust to win over the opponents. Really interesting plot, and an exciting one indeed. Too many twists and turns, all to keep you watching for hours.

P.S. I finished this drama in 2 days. Great feat isn't it? = No life. Yeah.

K-Drama: IRIS

Definitely made it to one of my favourite K-Dramas. This romance-thriller really keep your butt on your seat, a good sign of a good drama, a bad sign for your health. But who cares? It's so thrilling. Assasination. Gunshots. Romance. Killings. You name it. After leaving viewers half-way hanging and wondering in Season 1, I heard "IRIS Season 2 - Athena: Goddess of War" is coming, alright! ^^

That's all for my recommendation for now, and if you got any good dramas to recommend too, please do tell me.

Fighting!

++ So Many Movies to Watch ++
Seriously there are almost a hundred-and-one movies I wanna feast on this coming summer. Summer? What am I thinking. That's the only season we have in Singapore.

Anyway here's a list.

Percy Jackson & the Lightning Theif
72 Tenants of Prosperity
All's Well Ends Well Too 2010
Alice in Wonderland

How to Train Your Dragon
Clash of the Titans
Iron Man 2
Toy Story 3

I thought since I'm in Digital Media, it's good that I'm exposed to more media-related stuff, like movies, to study and learn, a better word would be "analyse", but it sounds too professional, oh well. Analyse the effects, the 3D models, how they animate, basically how they do it. I thought that would help in the future.

Anyway, results would be out tomorrow morning. Fighting!

++ Food Review: Waffletown ++
Address
271 Bukit Timah Road
#01-02 Balmoral Plaza

Tel: +65 6836 6536

Ambience/Setting - 4.8
Food & Beverage - 6.5
Value - 6.3
Service - 5.4

Ever since A&W is gone, I guess this is the only place left to have a waffle or two. The ambience is nothing special, the interior is shabby, but the fried chicken compensates for it. The skin is crispy and there's a nice layer of fats beneath, the meat is succulent and oil literally splurts out when I sank my teeth in it.

Being a "waffletown", it's obvious that their waffles are their speciality. I have tried most of the waffles there during my visits. Some of my favourites are Bacon & Egg Waffle, Ice Cream Waffle and Waffle Ala Mode(fruits & ice-cream w/ whipped cream). Their waffles are crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside, definitely a sign of good waffles. The Fruit Waffle is nothing special, and it would be better to serve the whipped cream cold. The mash-potato was bland.

Putting side by side, and comparing with KFC, I think Waffletown would make a good contender. However, the location is a problem. It's well-hidden, but it's definitely worth it when you discovered this place.

$5-8 per pax.
Depending. I ate two portions today and spent a little more than $10. ^^

it's 10:10 PM now on Sunday, March 21, 2010

++ SP Grad Show 2010 ++
I felt so empty after the grad show. Can our works be show-cased like those in today's? Grabbing awards? Winning competitions? I don't know. But I know, what matters now is that we give in our best in everything we do.

Met ZR and bro for a trip to Orchard area. One reason is that we have our own goals. For mine, it's to collect back my dear phone. OMG, finally it's done. The LCD, the buttons are now fixed. Great. We had lunch at KFC, then a coffee at Dr. Cafe Coffee (something along this line). The whip cream itself cost $1. Not cheap, but it taste good. Now another option other than Starbucks. ^^

Then met Benny at City Hall, where we head to the venue for the gradshow. And damn. It doesn't starts at 10am. Please. It starts at 7pm. But the whole thing is fun. Wanted to catch a movie, but was brought down by the others. Oh well.

Anyway, SNSD didn't win the Music Bank tonight. Next time, alright?

Fighting! ^^

++ Singapore Flyer, once again! ++
"Today is Wednesday. Today is a sunny day. Today I eat bread for breakfast. I am very happy."

That's how I wrote my diaries, or journals, when I'm really young. Technology came. And now I'm doing this on the internet. Who knows what else awaits in the future?

Anyway, went to the Singapore Flyer again, for the second time, but this time with my grandma. We took a cab there, brought the tickets and up the capsule-thing we went. My grandma was so afraid and tensed at first cos' she thought that it would spin very fast.

It doesn't. It spins slowly. But time seems to fly there. Ironic.

The view wasn't so different from the last time I came, except that the Integrated Resorts are about 90% completed. We took quite a number of photos. If not, seriously, it's wasted, it's almost $112 for 4 pax, luckily my father has a HSBC card, which minuses the amount to $90.

We had Popeye's chicken after spinning one whole round. Nothing is cheap there. God. But it's great that we had fun.

After sending grandma home, we went on to visit another grandma, which is in hospital. I actually made a trip down there a few days ago. I don't know. I'm afraid that she would leave us. She's such a dear to me. But thank God that she is recovering well, although at a slow pace, better than nothing. I will continue to pray for her too.

Cherish what we have now. Or you will live to regret otherwise.

++ Aye! Ima Piratezz!! ++
Avast Ye! Look at ma pirate ship.

So we had a meeting on Saturday. 6 of us actually, let's see, uh. Wai Yuen, Daniel, Jian Nan, Raymond, Timothy and myself. My brother was invited. So oh well. We had arcade, some drunch, I don't know. Dinner plus lunch? And there was this super huge "pirate-ship". OMG, of course I gotta snap some photos.

This is with my crew. Alright?!

After some admiration, we got to the sky-garden to chill, where Jian Nan suddenly go emo-ing. He wants to go home to catch us TV shows. Oh my. So off he went. Sadly.

They haven't really change alot, except that Daniel became exceptionally perverted. He's raping everyone he knows. Holy shit. You don't touch my Sunny or I give you a black-eye. Aye?!

We had Guitar/Band Hero at my house till 11pm. Totally rocking out. Then we met ZR for supper.

Don't talk to me about Roman soldiers. Hell no, I'm wearing that and acting in front of 500 people.

++ IT Show 2010 ++
Electronics, music, internet service providers, big crowd, eye-candies and their fliers, schools and a whole lot more. That's right, IT Show 2010. It's my first time, if I remembered correctly.

The first thing you would ever noticed is the crowd, lots of them, the number just keeps increasing until the closing. And luckily, I got there pretty early with ZR. The shops were scattered all around one part of the complex, and finding the shops wasn't an easy task. Thanks to ZR, who did his "homework", thus making navigating around the place easier.

We explored a little here and there, up to Lvl 6, that's our target, where they sells more stuff related to our needs. ZR got himself an iTouch, hard-disk, thumbdrive and RAM, definitely "burn a pocket in his hole". But at least it's worthwhile. You know, ZR? A0013? Not as cute as SoonKyu though.^^

So, my haul consists of just 2 1GB RAM for my desk-top, and a whole lot of fliers. After some D.I.Y fixing, it's running pretty fast now. Good to go. But the graphic card is still bleh, I think I will be buying another one in the near future.

Our 3rd project meeting at my house. Planning to finish most of the concept art, I hope. Might indulge in a game of Band Hero too.^^

++ Wednesday, 10 March 2010 ++
Great. So my phone just died on me, it's working, but the whole screen is covered with noise. I can't even figure out what's on the screen. God damn it. I've been so unlucky for this week. shit. First, there was my favourite keychain. Then this. Damn. I wonder how many left are there to go.

I think I'm gonna repair it first before trading-in for an iPhone. Should I? The apps look really fascinating. Or should I just stick with my current one? iPod Touch, iPhone. Oh my. They look almost identical, so I'm at a lost on what to do. So undecisive, as always. But iPhone doesn't come cheap either. My dad promised to buy me one, but I think he took back his words.

Damn the words of an adult. Most can never be trusted.

On a side note, project meeting and games at school today. We are progressing real slow. But most children would likely go, "slow and steady, win the race." Hope so. Planning to start modelling the sets/characters next week. We will see how it goes.

And I'll be going for the IT show tomorrow with ZR. My shopping list is currently empty. Gotta think of what to get.

++ Strawberries, yeah? ++

Strawberries are not only female favourites. It's my favourite fruit, and I can't stress how tasty, how juicy, how exotic, how holy it actually tastes. Oh my, I could easily come out with a hundred and one words to describe it. Anyway, I saw a pack of strawberries for $11.95. Not just any other normal ones, but these one are holy huge, imagine the size of your knuckles. Woah. Should get it some other days. Damn, I'm drooling.

So, in the afternoon, met up with ZR and bro to shop at West Coast Plaza for lunch. We brought some ingredients and a few movies before heading back. Well, back and forth actually, we went there again at night with my mother, for dinner and to get a new pair of specs for Tim.

Heard of the Seven Deadly Sins? Jealousy is my biggest obstacle, well not exactly, but I like the sense of exclusiveness, which means I have something, you don't have. He chose a pair quite similar as mine. Damn. But we're closer to becoming the "Chan-Brothers", yeah? We're authentic.^^

++ Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland (3D) ++

Storyline: 7.2/10

Visual Efx: 8.3/10

Sound Efx: 7/10

(But) Overall: 5.8/10

Alice in Wonderland? It's more of "Mad Hatter in Wonderland". If I could remember the original story plot correctly, Mad Hatter doesn't pops out so frequently. But hey, that guy is Johnny Depp, he's an exception.

Despite the neat visuals, great animations, this movie just lacks something. It's not refreshing at all. It's pretty dull. It's old. You get tired of watching it after awhile. The acting of newcomer, Mia Wasisoska, who acts as Alice, "whose acting is limited to mildly concerned, mildly puzzled, and mildly agitated". It is rather fake, you know it.

Tim Burton definitely can do better than this. For me, his older movies like "Edward Scissorhands" and "Charlie and the Cholate Factory" are way better. I think he knows it himself.

Spending money on this movie ticket? Think twice.

So many movies for Chinese New Year this year. This is the second CNY movie I caught and the title is kind of a tongue twister, and I don't bother to type it all out again. Both are Chinese-dubbed, but compared to 72 Tenants of Prosperity, this movie still lacks the "oomph" factor.

But well, if you want a good laugh for your buck, you might want to consider this movie. Just one word for the warning - lame.

Nothing suck more than having flu and sore throat. To top it up, there's still cough. It's the worse combination and the feeling is just terrible.

And I've got a movie outing tomorrow. damn. How can I turn up if this sickness won't stop?

But I know there are millions of people outside suffering, hunger, natural disasters, diseases. What's my case compared to them? May God show mercy on them.

I must stay strong. I'm no weakling.

++ Band Hero, wooahhoo! ++
My friends came over to have games at my house today; we had Band Hero and some card games, just to be short, those were the main anyway.

Benny came first, we watched some SNSD performances before Jian Xiang and Zhenli came, and shortly the others arrived. Had a few rounds of "BANG!", fun right? Too bad, it isn't mine and Daren and Ling Ling can't make it. So well, maybe next time. Cos' I think Siming is coming back next week from Egypt on some mission trip. God bless you.^^

Wang Ting and ZR came along too. Had lots of fun, banging the drums, strumming the guitar, haven't been on the XBOX for so long, for quite sometime. After then, everyone went for dinner 'cept me. Got to clean up abit before the guys came for discussion. As holidays are (quite) long, we are searching for something to do, something constructive, so this idea of a short 3D trailer came along. Got to start early, a few more weeks to ITP. Damn.

Anyway, feeling sick and tired now. My mum is not feeling well too(, although she's still got the ability to scold). ZL too. May God put his healing hand on us. *Aacchoookljgqwrkmdxc!!** damn.

The visit to this Swiss restaurant a few weeks ago, was my second time, and it's for a gathering with my church friends. Great place for chilling out and quite a good place for Swiss cuisine.

Many complained about the lack of service and the long queue, but I see nothing wrong with it and when the entrance staff is a beauty.(Opps.) And of course, there's supposed to be a long queue on Friday nights and weekdays. Moreover, it's the last Marche standing right here in Singapore.

For those who doesn't know, Marche is a buffet-style restaurant, which you pay temporarily with a card (and you make the full payment after your meal).

We ordered, and we shared. The reason, that is, one could try everyone's, and that - the joy of sharing. Sirloin steak, pork chop, rosti, sausages, chicken drumlets, and the list goes on and on. Name it, we've tried them all. The price tag of $18 is reasonable, putting in account, of the variety you could try.

The only thing I regret is that, I haven't get to try their signature crepe. Most sing praises of it. Gotta try it some other day. (And maybe try to get the entrance staff's name).

For now, that's it.
