Ever since A&W is gone, I guess this is the only place left to have a waffle or two. The ambience is nothing special, the interior is shabby, but the fried chicken compensates for it. The skin is crispy and there's a nice layer of fats beneath, the meat is succulent and oil literally splurts out when I sank my teeth in it.
Being a "waffletown", it's obvious that their waffles are their speciality. I have tried most of the waffles there during my visits. Some of my favourites are Bacon & Egg Waffle, Ice Cream Waffle and Waffle Ala Mode(fruits & ice-cream w/ whipped cream). Their waffles are crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside, definitely a sign of good waffles. The Fruit Waffle is nothing special, and it would be better to serve the whipped cream cold. The mash-potato was bland.
Putting side by side, and comparing with KFC, I think Waffletown would make a good contender. However, the location is a problem. It's well-hidden, but it's definitely worth it when you discovered this place.
$5-8 per pax.
Depending. I ate two portions today and spent a little more than $10. ^^
