I am fortunate enough to try out 2 chinese restaurants for the birthdays of the parents of my girlfriend and I. It's quite some time since I did food reviews, but suddenly this urge to introduce good food came again.

Even on a weekend afternoon, crowds never fail to fill this restaurant. Their dim sum is top-notch, that's what I heard. We tried some assorted dumplings, including their famous Xiao Long Bao. However, it's quite a disappointment, the skin breaks easily and the soup base is too oily.
The ambience is based on ancient Chinese dynasty designs, with decors like huge traditional lanterns hanging above the tables and classic Chinese table wares.

Location is a huge problem when it comes to Ah Yat, there's no train services operating in the vincity and there are limited buses. We ordered a set dinner, which includes Suckling Pig, Shark Fin Soup, Abalone Glutinous-rice and King Crab w/ Salted Yolk.
Portion-wise it is definitely enough, but to satisfy the taste buds is another thing. Weighing the price in, I wouldn't recommend the dinner courses, even with promotions whatsoever. But I heard they serve good dim sum, might give it a try at their other branches.

Shark Fin Soup (Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant)
Their signature dishes includes Shark Fin Soup and Xiao Long Bao, since I didn't tried the latter(at Ah Yat), Braised Shark Fin Soup - it's a must try at both outlets.
P.S If you have a heart for the dying sharks, just eat it occasionally, for the sake of pampering your taste buds.
