Being an avid FPS(first-person shooter) fan, it's just difficult not to get my hands on this game. Black Ops is the second "Call of Duty" game I ever had, the first one being the fifth installment - World at War.
Black Ops is the first to be set in the Cold War, and it features an insanely intense storyline, being held captive and interrogated by unseen captors, you are bombarded by questions about the locations of a number station. Players progress through the story mostly through flashbacks of Alex Mason, special forces operative, in search of information. There's plots and twists throughout, which really spices up the whole game up.
Story-mode aside, "Black Ops" features the popular Nazi Zombies mode from the World at War, and other incredibly fun multiplayer modes, both online and local-offline, including the Dead Ops Arcade and Wager matches, (which I haven't try it out yet, the gameplay looks fun though.)
The voice acting and sounds lend a great deal to the overall game experience too. The music tracks fit perfectly according to the events happening, and well, it's truly an easter egg - always full of surprises. For say, it is literally music to your ears.
Texture looks pretty awesome, although at some parts they took quite some time to load up and some other minor graphical and technical glitches. But it's tough to notice this kinds of blemishes, when a grenade is ticking right beside you. Aye? Also featuring new 3D experience, however the frame rate would suffer greatly, wouldn't really recommend it for the maximum game experience.
Still, Call of Duty: Black Ops provides plenty of fun. Definitely recommended, even if you're not a fan of the COD series.
Well actually.. You will become one after the credit-roll.
